Angelina Jolie: Why She Ignored Brad Pitt Completely On Their Wedding Anniversary

Angelina Jolie, 42, and Brad Pitt, 53, were married on August 23, 2014 after nearly a decade-long romance and six children, including three biological. However, the day is no longer a celebration of their love and instead a day to lay low and avoid each other. While their split is still fresh and, unfortunately, ongoing, HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned why Brad and Angelina were not interested in communicating with each other on what wold have been their third wedding anniversary. “Angelina ignored her ex, Brad, yesterday on what was and would have been their wedding anniversary,” a family insider explained. But, why? “After everything they have been through, neither one reached out to the other as they are both moving on with life alone.”

This sad news comes after reports briefly claimed there was a chance that Brangelina could somehow find their way back to each other. However, rumors of a reconciliation were quickly shut down, as HollywoodLife.com previously reported, due to the fact that just “too much” had gone down between the two. Brad and Angelina’s focus continues to be on their six children, and making sure that their transition during the painful split is as seamless as possible. In fact, it appears that Angelina decided to spoil the kids rotten instead of celebrating her and Brad’s wedding anniversary. New pictures show the mother of six leaving Toys ‘R Us with the kids, who are all thrilled to be carrying a bunch of shopping bags. New toys for everyone!

President Donald Trump Pardons Former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, 85,  is no longer a convicted criminal courtesy of President Donald Trump, 71. Arpaio was found guilty of misdemeanor criminal contempt in a racial profiling case in July, and was supposed to be sentenced on October 5. Arpaio faced a maximum six months in prison, but because of the president’s actions late in the day on Aug. 25, he will now walk free.

Many expected Trump to pardon the controversial ex-lawman at a campaign-style rally in Phoenix on Aug. 22. But he told the crowd, “I won’t do it tonight because I don’t want to cause any controversy,” after asking, “Was Sheriff Joe convicted for doing his job?” Well, it looks like the tycoon wanted to avoid as much of an uproar as possible, doing it in the early evening hours of a Friday heading into a weekend that will be dominated by the news of the destructive path of Hurricane Harvey through Texas. Way to bury the story Trump!

The former sheriff had defied an Arizona state judge’s 2011 order to stop traffic patrols that targeted suspected undocumented immigrants. But Trump stood by Arpaio, whom he said had “done a lot” in cracking down on illegal immigration. During a Fox News appearance in early August, Trump said that he may pardon Arpaio. “I am seriously considering a pardon for Sheriff Arpaio,” Trump told Fox News. “He has done a lot in the fight against illegal immigration. He’s a great American patriot and I hate to see what has happened to him.”

Arpaio said prior to the August 22 rally that he would accept the pardon if given, and that “of course” he would be at the rally. Obviously. He said in early August that the White House had not approached him about a pardon, but that may have changed closer to the rally. “I’ve been doing rallies with him many, many times, and sometimes things are done the last minute,” he told POLITICO.

Even without the controversial pardoning, Trump’s campaign-style rally was still volatile. The president is still campaigning seven months into his presidency, and while he faced cheers inside the Phoenix Convention Center, he was met with a massive crowd of protestors outside. The president is under higher scrutiny after giving a speech the week prior that seemed to defend the white supremacists in Charlottesville. Rather than condemning them entirely, he said that there was violence and problems “on both sides” — aka placing blame on counter-protestors trying to fight neo-Nazis, the KKK, and the alt-right.

Rihanna ‘Still Worries’ About & Loves Chris Brown — Would She Ever Take Him Back?

Feeling nostalgic? Even though Rihanna and Chris Brown parted years ago, she’ll always have a connection with her ex. We’ve EXCLUSIVELY learned that RiRi ‘still worries’ about and has love for Breezy, but would she ever rekindle their romance?

Rihanna, 29, appears to be head over heels about her rumored new beau Hassan Jameel, but she’ll always hold a special place in her heart for Chris Brown, 28, and the bond they once shared. Even though she’s moved on, the Barbadian beauty wants the best for her former flame, despite the tumultuous split they had. “Rihanna still worries a lot about Chris, even after all that’s gone on with them there’s a part of her that feels protective of him,” a source close to the singer tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “She thinks he’s in a really bad place right now and she’s concerned but what can she do? She knows he wants her back, he still calls her and messages her and he’s still in contact with her family too.”

“Chris has begged her plenty of times to take him back but that’s just not an option for her anymore,” our insider explained. “She will always love him and she does wish she could help him but there’s really nothing she can do, she’s not going backwards.” The hip-hop icon recently opened up about their highly publicized breakup in his vulnerable new documentary, Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life, revealing new details about their horrific fight in 2009. Breezy was reportedly ready to pop the question to his longtime girlfriend Rihanna and decided to tell her about a past relationship he had with a woman he worked with. This supposedly started their heated argument.

Chris has reportedly never stopped loving his ex Rihanna and is asking friends if she’d ever consider taking him back, according to Life & Style. Even so, it looks like RiRi is happy with hunky billionaire Hassan and she has a new approach to her romantic life this time around. As we previously reported, “Rihanna is totally cool with keeping things out of the spotlight,” our insider close to the singer said. “After the nightmare she went through with Chris she really doesn’t want to have another splashy public romance — and she loves the fact that Hassan doesn’t want to be in the spotlight, or be famous, there’s no competition between them, he allows her to be the star and to shine.”

HollywoodLifers, do you think it’s great that Rihanna is moving on? Tell us, below!

Taylor Swift's 'Look What You Made Me Do' Allows Ellen Pompeo & The Other Ladies ABC's TGIT to Strut Their Stuff

Taylor Swift‘s reputation has extended as far as ABC.

After Swift, 27, dropped her newest single “Look What You Made Me Do,” ABC quickly dropped their latest promo for its Thank God It’s Thursday [TGIT] offering with Swift’s track providing the theme song for some serious strutting, smooching and devious behavior.

The song played perfectly off of the three strong female leads that star in Shonda Rhimes‘ TV line-up: Meredith Grey, Olivia Pope, and Annalise Keating.

The Twitter account for Grey’s Anatomy released the promo, writing, “We’ve got a #reputation. The countdown to TGIT has begun. #LookWhatYouMadeMeDo #TGITaylor.”

ABC’s use of Swift’s single shouldn’t come as surprising seeing as the popstar has a cat named Meredith, after Ellen Pompeo’s iconic character.

Aside from blasting Swift’s new song, the promo pumped fans up for the coming season of Grey’s Anatomy with Meredith Grey grabbing new love interest Nathan Riggs for a kiss.

Scandal‘s Olivia Pope is also reigniting an old flame… with Fitz Grant. The two can be seen sharing a searing kiss in the TGIT trailer.

Swift’s first solo single in three years dropped late Thursday night, causing a social media storm.

Co-written by the “Shake It Off” singer and her longtime pal Jack Antonoff (who also produced several tracks off her last album 1989), the brooding, dark track takes on her haters and includes an interpolation of “I’m Too Sexy” by Right Said Fred.

The single is the first song off of Swift’s upcoming album, Reputation, which will be released on Nov. 10.

ABC’s TGIT line-up is back on the small screen Sept. 28.

Why The MTV Video Music Awards are the Perfect Stage for Taylor Swift's Return

Nobody can predict the future, and these days nobody seems to be able to predict what Taylor Swift is going to do either. The past year of the singer's life has truly been a riddle wrapped in a mystery, from her marquee breakup to the "Famous" fiasco to her complete and total disappearance from the world's stage, and it's been especially difficult to follow.

Yet despite the air of secrecy that surrounds her every private jet flight, social media blackout and possible transportation inside an industrial box, it's time to make some bold claims. Make that a claim wrapped in a suggestion: This Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards are going to be the perfect platform for her resurgence.
First a look at the evidence. The rumor mill started swirling when it was announced late last month that Katy Perry would be hosting the VMAs. There is certainly no implication that wherever Perry goes, Swift has to follow, but inquiring minds simply had to wonder whether it was all setting the stage for an epic reveal.

The so-called feud had been ramping up this summer after a long dormant time—take, for example, the fact that Swift released all of her albums on Spotify right before Perry's new single was set to drop—so it only seems natural to fans (and the Internet at large) that the time is now.

Taylor has a history of saving her biggest moments for the VMAs. The singer famously skipped last year's edition, but in 2015 she surprised audiences and viewers (and the entire world) by coming out during Nicki Minaj's performance. The two instantly squashed all the previous headlines over their rumored beef and the joint performance was the biggest moment of the night.

Taylor also presented her frenemy Kanye Westwith the Video Vanguard award, allowing her to make light of the "I'ma let you finish" fiasco and come out the bigger person. In 2014 the singer appeared at the VMAs fresh off the announcement of her marquee album 1989 and performed "Shake It Off" for the adoring crowds.
The events of this past week have only bolstered this pattern and led to so much speculation. In perhaps the biggest musical news of the summer (the year?), the artist wiped all of her social media accounts, started off her clean slate with a cryptic video of a slithering snake, and then announced a brand new single to drop this morning right on the heels of Sunday's big show, as well as an album, "Reputation," due out this fall.

Now sure, it could be a total coincidence. Songs and albums always release on Fridays, and it would make sense that she wouldn't want to wait until next week and have her big news get lost in the Labor Day holiday. But the timing is just too particular.

On a more logistical level, there is growing speculation from paparazzi agencies that she traveled from her home in Nashville to Los Angeles. The singer goes back and forth all the time, but again, it just seems too convenient to be a coincidence.

So what exactly is going to go down on Sunday night? Our vote is for a little something like this: Perry introduces Swift, who is on hand to present an award. Her introduction includes a subtle peace offering and an acknowledgement that they've decided to put their bad blood behind them. Taylor then presents the award, graciously waits out the winner's acceptance speech, and then the stadium goes dark as the video for the new single debuts on a big screen.
Is it exactly what fans want? Probably not. Fans are calling for a joint performance between Katy and Taylor, akin to what Nicki did two years ago. But that seems unlikely, both based on source information and also because it's highly unlikely that any artist could prepare a performance of a brand new single that quickly. Taylor has been away from music and performing in general for a long time, so she's going to want it to be perfect.

But our imaginary scenario could be pretty great, too. Any appearance at the VMAs is a good move for Taylor, both because it's guaranteed to drum up buzz and also because it allows her to take even further steps towards reclaiming (or covering up) the memory of the Kanye West debacle in 2009. It's also the perfect way to bury the hatchet with Perry without being overly cheesy or having to fake a sentiment that just isn't there between the two singers.

So what are we supposed to do until then? We put Spotify on repeat, of course.

Taylor Swift Releases Her First Single From reputation

After months and months of wondering if and when new music would be coming out, Taylor Swift officially released a new single titled "Look What You Made Me Do."

The track is expected to be featured on the Grammy winner's upcoming album reputation that will be available everywhere on November 10. When you pre-order reputation, fans can register for Taylor Swift Tix powered by Ticketmaster for an opportunity to purchase tickets to an upcoming concert show.

As for the lyric video, it's officially live on YouTube and produced by Taylor and Joseph Kahn.

And for those loyal fans who have been keeping track, it's been nearly three years since the release of her last album called 1989.

Fans around the world have patiently been waiting for new music from the woman behind huge hit singles including "Shake It Off," "Love Story" and "22."

And while music lovers were delighted to hear her surprise collaboration with Zayn Malik for the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack back in December 2016, an entire new album has turned the excitement up even more.

"Taylor has been writing and recording her new album in Nashville for the last several months," a source previously shared with E! News back in May. "She has been working on it around the clock and will be making an announcement soon."
Our insider added, "She is really excited about her new music and can't wait to share it with her fans."

After a social media purge, Taylor appears ready to start a new chapter in her music career. And based on the positive reception she is receiving to her latest single, this is only the beginning.

Will she somehow be involved in Sunday night's 2017 MTV Video Music Awards? We'll just have to wait and see!

Matt Reeves clarifies that solo Batman film 'will be part of the DC universe'

What a week for the Gotham City news cycle! While reports circulated that Warner Bros. is working on twodifferent films focusing on eternal Bat-nemesis the Joker, yesterday saw the resurfacing of an interview with solo Batman film director Matt Reeves. In the July interview, Reeves described the film as a “standalone…not part of the extended universe.”

As I noted yesterday, all of those terms are vague enough to mean anything. “Universe” is a vague term as applied to film franchises. A “cinematic universe” is generally meant to refer to a series with strong continuity – like how every Marvel property mentions the attack in New York from Avengers at least once. Conversely, projects like Deadpool or Logan nominally share a universe with the X-Men series, but are also clearly meant to be breakaway entries, with minimal overlap in terms of plot.

The latter appears to be what Reeves hopes for his Batman project. The War for the Planet of the Apes director made some minor clarifications on Thursday.

You could interpret some 👀 in Reeves’ note about “cameos servicing other stories.” (Translation, maybe: “I really didn’t want another superpowered character dropping in randomly every 20 minutes just so we could put that character on the movie poster twice.”) But Warner Bros. has always expressed hope that their superhero mega-franchise could allow individual filmmakers to explore different stylistic directions with those solo-hero spin-offs.

It remains unclear just how different the narrative directions will be, with some recent reports implying that projects like the Joker origin story will simply ignore other films with the characters. So you can interpret Reeves’ clarification as a kind of compromise. Yes, we will be in the same universe as Justice League; no, we will not see any other characters from Justice League. Hey, universes are supposed to be big.

Firing back! Katy Perry makes several not-so-subtle references to her ongoing feud with Taylor Swift

In her new song Swish Swish she makes several references to the ugly feud she has with the 1989 hitmaker, making it clear she was not going to back down from their very public spat. 'Ur game is tired, you should retire,' she sings.
Things get even more intense in the Swish Swish music video - which features stars from Glee, Stranger Things, Game Of Thrones and Glow - as there are plenty of nods to the former country music star and their power struggle. Nicki Minaj even pops up (wearing what looks like a Bad Blood costume) to make it clear she is on Team Perry.

The video was released on Thursday, the day after Swift announced her November 10 album Reputation and just days before Perry is set to host the MTV VMAs on Sunday.
It is rumoured that Swish Swish is in response to Taylor's Bad Blood released in 2014 which was reported to be a Katy diss track.

Josh Homme drunkenly slams “douchebag” Robin Thicke

The QOTSA frontman took issue with the outcome of the pop singer's 2015 'Blurred Lines' lawsuit in a new interview

Josh Homme has taken aim at Robin Thicke in a new drunken interview, with the Queens Of The Stone Age frontman labelling the ‘Blurred Lines’ singer a “douchebag” in regards to the current state of music copyright law.

Homme’s comment was made in reference to the copyright lawsuit that was launched against Thicke and the writers of ‘Blurred Lines’ – which included Pharrell Williams – by the estate of Marvin Gaye in October 2013. The case was ruled in favour of the Gaye estate in March 2015, with the judge ruling that Thicke and Pharrell had to pay $7.3 million to Gaye’s estate.

The case’s landmark verdict has triggered a fear in the music industry that similar lawsuits could now be launched over the issue of stylistic resemblance – the basis of the Gaye estate’s complaint being that ‘Blurred Lines’ ripped off Gaye’s 1977 hit ‘Got To Give It Up’. Gaye is now posthumously listed as a co-writer on ‘Blurred Lines’ as part of the legal ruling.

Speaking to Rolling Stone – which notes that Homme was drinking “high-end tequila” at the time of the interview, with the frontman later admitting that he was “really drunk from last night, still” – Homme lamented the fact that musicians now have to be extra careful about the songs and artists they take inspiration from.

“It used to be, if anything had any hint of anybody else, I wouldn’t play it,” he said. “Now, I don’t worry about things, even though copyright law is really fucked up right now because of that dumb shit Robin Thicke. What a douchebag. Talk about thick.

“Now the copyright law is like, ‘If it tastes like chicken, I guess you stole it.’ Thanks, asshole.”

Earlier today, Homme responded to rumours that Queens of the Stone Age will make a surprise appearance at Reading and Leeds, which kicks off tomorrow.

James Cameron says ‘Wonder Woman’ objectified its star and is ‘a step backwards’

The 'Avatar' director says 'Terminator''s Sarah Connor was a better depiction of a strong woman

James Cameron has criticised Wonder Woman for “objectifying” the film’s central character, calling it “a step backwards.”

The director, who is currently working on four Avatar sequels, doesn’t share in the opinion that Gal Gadot’s depiction of the superhero is a change in the right direction for how women are portrayed in movies.

“All of the self-congratulatory back-patting Hollywood’s been doing over Wonder Woman has been so misguided,” he told the Guardian. “She’s an objectified icon, and it’s just male Hollywood doing the same old thing!”

He added that a character from one of the Terminator franchise was a much better example of a strong woman in the movies. “I’m not saying I didn’t like the movie, but, to me, it’s a step backwards. Sarah Connor was not a beauty icon. She was strong, she was troubled, she was a terrible mother, and she earned the respect of the audience through pure grit.”

He continued: “And to me, [the benefit of characters like Connor] is so obvious. I mean, half the audience is female!”

Cameron added that he doesn’t understand why there are few strong female characters in movies when “there are many women in power in Hollywood.” “They do get to guide and shape what films get made,” he said. “I think – no, I can’t account for it. Because how many times do I have to demonstrate the same thing over again? I feel like I’m shouting in a wind tunnel.”

Earlier this summer, Wonder Woman become the biggest global live-action film ever released by a female director, after it grossed an eye-watering $653.9 million (£514 million) worldwide.

The DC Comics superhero film, which was directed by Patty Jenkins, secured the massive box office sum in its fourth week of release.

It beat the record set by Phyllida Lloyd’s big screen adaptation of Mamma Mia, which grossed $609.8 million (£479 million) in 2008, as well as beating 2015’s Fifty Shades of Grey, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, for the biggest launch by a female director – after taking $85.2 million (£66 million) in its first weekend of release.
